Pages & Pie Publishing

As a copy editor at Pages & Pie, I worked on a number of smaller projects, including press releases, website content, letters to authors, and two novels: Tales From Dickerson Park Zoo by Mike Crocker, and Dawn That Brings Death by Addison Michael.  My name appears in both of these publications as an editor.

Tales From Dickerson Park Zoo includes a section of photos. I used Photoshop to edit each image and optimize them for black-and-white print and arranged them into several pages of collages. 

My test assignment prior to being hired at Pages & Pie Publishing was to edit the book press release for Fading Fog. I was given three more press releases with instructions to make them more concise and optimize them for search engines. Here are two samples of my editing

When I started working on The Alum Report I edited three articles that were submitted by students who had interviewed alum prior to my employment. Of particular interest is the Kari Cox article, written by a student whose first language is not English. It was difficult to edit because I did not have contact with the author or the alum to ask questions, nor did I have an audio recording of the interview. My assignment was to make the article concise. You'll see the article as it was written and the article after my fourth edit.
